For many things I feel lucky to be Greek, but if I had to choose, without a second thought, I would have chosen this beauty of Balos Lagoon. It looks like a divine hand, placing this piece of land in precisely this spot, in the magnificent Crete, and framed it with shades of blue, exotic waterways that enchant you to see before you even go down the stairs so you can follow them.
And when you finally feel the hot fluffy sand on your feet and get into this vastness, you can only feel lucky that you can experience this beauty, you can swim in the waters that reflect all their truth, you can breathe the sea the aura of this magical place, of this paradise on earth. A creation of nature that we are generously offered. So simple yet so grand.
