Wait! Don’t start yet! Put some –appropriate- music on first!
This post took so long to be online. Perhaps because I subconsciously wanted to keep as much as I can the shine and vitality of the Parisian fashion week. Or rather, I came back as a zombie by the comings and goings in the showrooms, the shows and the socializing those 9 “fashionable” days that I hardly sleep and get lost from the rest of the world, beyond fashion and Paris. Hard work. But someone has to do it. :-p
The city of light once again welcomed the fashion world, with champagne, a bright sun (!) but also increased security measures, since the places of the shows remained secret and known only to those who had been invited. Certainly, we missed the imaginative stylistic combinations of the Wannabes who were standing outside the shows to be photographed. Dommage! The attractive weather on the other hand made me constantly try to steal some time to wander to my favorite Parisian places, the Jardin du Luxembourg, in the region of Saint Germain des prés and the Ralph Lauren restaurant and the “Royal” 1st arrondissement .
What I like in Paris fashion week (and what destroys my legs as well) is that every designer can choose the place of his show. One moment I may be popping into the Grand Palais, the Opera, the Hôtel de Ville, in a luxury hotel and the other in a garage in the Marais or even in a high school, as John Galliano chose this year. Everything is possible during those days that the mail boxes are on fire, the champagne glasses don’t stop to toast, the pace is hectic and the city is actually a movable feast! What do you think Hemingway?
John Galliano, romance with a little edgy touch with amazing cuts and transparency
In the showroom of Vanessa Bruno, I had this sense of inner summer that lasts forever! Natural fabrics and warm colors in perfect balance.

Models everywhere!
Veronique Branquinho represent faded floral wallpaper on forgotten walls of the 18th century in romantic gowns with tulle and lace.
My favorite Valentin Yudashkin, as always, represented the ultimate timeless elegance! Long mermaid dresses, lots of glitter and champagne colors.
Dorhout Mees Finale
Each time a fashion week in Paris ends, I wish I could live it over again (as long as someone can send me a dozen of vitamins!) But I have not a Genie, so inevitably I will wait until March.
